Overview
We are seeking an experienced ICT Manager to lead and coordinate all information systems and IT infrastructure activities within a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment. This role will oversee a small IT team and ensure the reliability, security, and continuous improvement of all systems supporting business operations.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with People management/Stakeholder capability and prior experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting, with a key focus on supporting production and automation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prioritize, and manage IT support and maintenance activities to ensure optimal system performance and uptime
- Lead and develop a small IT team, providing guidance, mentoring, and performance management
- Oversee daily IT operations, including help desk support, IMAC/VMAC activities, and incident response
- Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, including LAN/WAN networks, servers, telephony systems, desktops, printers, and scanning devices
- Provide IT and technology support to production and automation lines, including troubleshooting (“firefighting”), system upgrades, and fault analysis to minimise downtime
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs and implement effective IT solutions
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement hardware and software solutions to enhance system capabilities
- Ensure data integrity, cybersecurity, and compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements
- Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices
- Lead business continuity and disaster recovery planning, including system backups and recovery processes
- Manage system scheduling, data storage, and retrieval functions
- Provide technical leadership on medium to large-scale IT projects
- Support workforce planning, including recruitment and retention of IT staff
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in IT, with proven Senior / Management responsibility
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is essential
- Experience supporting production systems, automation lines or shop-floor IT environments
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and end-user support
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex system issues in time-critical production environments
- Proven experience in system upgrades, fault diagnosis, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
