The Injection Moulding Technician is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of injection moulding machines to produce high-quality plastic components in accordance with production schedules and quality standards. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, install, and change moulds according to the production plan.
- Set up machine parameters (temperature, pressure, cycle time, etc.) and ensure stable operation.
- Start and monitor production runs, ensuring consistent product quality.
- Fine-tune process settings to maximise productivity and reduce defects.
- Troubleshoot machine and process issues, performing root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning and troubleshooting of moulding machines and tools.
- Inspect and document production output to maintain ISO and customer quality requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, tooling and quality teams and support training of operators and junior staff.
Qualifications & Experience
- Technical/vocational qualification in Polymer, plastics, engineering or manufacturing.
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in injection moulding, ideally within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Work shift patterns when required.
- Strong knowledge of plastic materials and moulding processes.
- Familiarity with modern injection moulding machinery.
- Experience with process monitoring systems and quality inspection tools.
