Key Responsibilities
- Translate customer information into practical working formats for the quotation office
- Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and component specifications using Excel for supplier distribution
- Respond to supplier queries regarding parts and specifications
- Collaborate with Finance, NPI, and Engineering teams to develop and improve labour costings
- Monitor labour efficiency against quoted timelines
- Develop and implement effective costing models
- Work closely with the Sales team and customers to deliver quotations in a timely and professional manner
- Monitor foreign exchange (FX) rates to ensure accurate cost projections
- Interpret and understand detailed engineering drawings
- Liaise with suppliers to track and manage component costs
- Maintain and oversee the Approved Vendor List (AVL)
- Upload and maintain BOMs and routers within the ERP system
- Provide administrative support to both the Sales and Engineering teams
Requirements
- Engineering background is essential
- Sheet metal manufacturing experience is essential
- Experience in cost modelling and supplier management is advantageous
- Finance or costing experience is desirable
- Strong analytical and organisational skills
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Previous experience in NPI (New Product Introduction) or quotation engineering roles is highly desirable
