We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Product Regulatory Engineer to lead regulatory compliance efforts across international markets. This role is ideal for a professional with strong technical, analytical, and communication skills who can navigate complex regulatory frameworks and ensure full product compliance from design through post-market activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Strategy & Oversight
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive global regulatory compliance strategy aligned with business goals and market expansion.
- Monitor, interpret, and apply national, regional, and international regulations, standards, and directives (e.g., CPR, RED, LVD, EMC, RoHS, WEEE, UKCA, UL, CE, BSI, VdS).
- Provide expert guidance to cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing) throughout the product lifecycle.
- Identify potential regulatory risks and opportunities, developing mitigation and action plans.
- Manage and oversee product approvals and certifications for new and existing products across global markets.
- Prepare and submit technical documentation, test reports, and Declarations of Conformity to certification and regulatory bodies.
- Coordinate internal and external testing to verify compliance with relevant standards.
- Maintain all certifications, licenses, and declarations, ensuring continued validity and accuracy.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Notified Bodies, certification agencies, and regulatory authorities.
- Manage audits, inspections, and assessments, addressing any findings to ensure timely approvals.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key regulatory stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive regulatory documentation and records.
- Collaborate with Quality teams to integrate regulatory requirements into the Quality Management System (e.g., ISO 9001, EN 13980).
- Develop and deliver training on regulatory compliance to internal teams.
- Ensure product labelling, manuals, and marketing materials meet applicable regulations.
- Support post-market surveillance and incident reviews for regulatory impact.
- Manage product changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Coordinate product recall activities if required, in alignment with regulatory expectations.
About You Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Law, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a dedicated product regulatory role within a manufacturing or regulated environment (preferably electronics or consumer goods).
- In-depth knowledge of major international regulatory frameworks (CPR, RED, LVD, EMC, RoHS, WEEE, REACH, UKCA, UL, BSI, VdS).
- Proven experience managing complex product approval processes and working with Notified Bodies.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems (ISO 9001 or equivalent).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex regulations clearly.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive, with strong project management capabilities.

- Experience within the fire safety or security industry.
- Knowledge of global market access strategies.
- Legal or regulatory affairs qualification.
- Fluency in additional languages.
- High integrity and professionalism.
