Project Engineer – 12-Month Contract

We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join a dynamic manufacturing site on a 12-month contract. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to manage capital projects, support process engineering, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering services to maximise availability of process equipment and utilities.
- Manage capital engineering projects (up to €5M) from feasibility to completion.
- Support uptime and efficiency of process equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
- Deliver process engineering support, troubleshooting, and technical solutions for site operations.
- Identify, lead, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Execute engineering projects, including process safety initiatives.
- Collaborate with production, engineering teams, and external contractors for installation, commissioning, and maintenance of equipment.
- Lead commissioning and validation activities for process equipment.
- Prepare feasibility studies, capital proposals, and manage project budgets.
- Support major site initiatives and ensure alignment with operational goals.
- Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering.
- 5+ years’ experience in API, OSD, or Biopharma manufacturing (3+ years may be considered with relevant project experience).
- Proven track record delivering capital projects, including new equipment, utilities, or facilities.
- Strong knowledge of change control and C&Q processes.
- Experience with one or more of the following:
- API process equipment (reactors, filter dryers, pumps, process piping).
- Containment technologies (gloveboxes, downflow booths).
- Drug product equipment (tablet presses, roller compactors, coaters, blenders, Quadro Comils).
- Cleanroom processing/utilities (HVAC, CIP systems, purified water generation/distribution).
- Experience in batch processing, automation, commissioning, validation, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Working knowledge of distributed control systems (e.g., DeltaV).
- Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on approach in a live manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of cGMP and regulatory requirements in the healthcare industry.
- Proven project management skills, delivering on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Experience with TrackWise change control system.
- Electrical engineering competency, including design and installation of process equipment and site electrical systems.
- Familiarity with ATEX regulations and compliance requirements.
