Project Engineer | Westport | Onsite Role
We are currently recruiting a Project Engineer for a leading regulated manufacturing environment in Westport. This is an exciting opportunity to lead high-impact engineering projects focused on process improvements, automation, and aseptic processing systems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement new processing equipment and associated facility/utilities modifications.

We are currently recruiting a Project Engineer for a leading regulated manufacturing environment in Westport. This is an exciting opportunity to lead high-impact engineering projects focused on process improvements, automation, and aseptic processing systems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement new processing equipment and associated facility/utilities modifications.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead cross-functional project teams to deliver processing equipment within agreed timelines and scope
- Coordinate installation and service hook-ups with vendors and site engineering teams
- Drive Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), commissioning, and qualification support
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and design review meetings
- Ensure full project documentation and structured handover (training, O&M manuals, spare parts, PM schedules)
- Packaging, assembly, and inspection equipment
- Autoclaves
- RABS & isolator filling machines
- LAF units
- Compounding skids
- Process vessels
Engineering & Compliance
- Develop User Requirement Specifications (URS)
- Vendor selection and evaluation
- Raise capital requests and manage purchase orders
- Work to ASME BPE 2019 standards and relevant ISPE guidelines
- Support aseptic processing and product manufacturing improvements
- Deliver process improvement and cost reduction initiatives
Meetings & Governance
- Lead weekly/bi-weekly project review meetings
- Participate in regular engineering tier meetings
Key Requirements
- Third-level qualification in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 2–5 years’ experience in Biologics, Pharmaceutical, or Medical Device industry
- Proven project management experience
- Strong technical capability with the ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience operating within cross-functional project teams
Additional Information
- Onsite role based in Westport
- Ad-hoc travel (0–4 times per year) for design reviews, build inspections, and FATs
