Project Lead – Shop Floor Integration Layer (SIL) Deployment
About the Role We are seeking a Project Lead / Project Engineer to support the rollout of a Shop Floor Integration Layer (SIL) program using Ignition SCADA/MES across multiple manufacturing sites. This initiative is central to driving digital manufacturing maturity, enabling real-time data flow, automationand efficiency.
This role is ideal for a hands-on project professional who can coordinate multi-site deployments, bridge business needs with technical execution and drive progress while ensuring alignment to global standards. Unlike a traditional project manager, this role stays closely connected to site-level realities, advancing both implementation and change management.
The position is contract-based, with a strong preference for candidates based in the EU for time zone alignment and proximity to key sites.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans for each site, including milestones, resources, and Ignition deployment steps.
- Work with local site teams to adapt plans to their unique requirements and challenges.
- Track progress daily/weekly, using collaboration and reporting tools to ensure timelines are met.
- Provide clear, structured updates on progress, risks, and key metrics to global stakeholders.
- Manage scope changes, assessing impacts on schedules and system integrity.
- Identify and escalate technical or integration issues quickly to avoid delays.
- Coordinate support needs, including subject matter experts, resources, or funding.
- Create and document standards for shop floor integration to drive consistency across sites.
- Gather requirements through workshops, surveys, and consultations to inform deployment.
- Drive execution forward with a practical, problem-solving approach grounded in site realities.
- Travel up to 50% across EU and international sites to support workshops, assessments, and go-lives.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in project engineering or project management.
- Background in industrial automation (SCADA/MES, shop floor integration, manufacturing IT/OT).
- Experience in pharma, life sciences, or regulated manufacturing environments is a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of Ignition platform (SCADA/MES) or similar automation systems.
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-site deployments.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to balance global standards and local needs.
