Overview
We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer to lead the successful launch and integration of new products into an established manufacturing environment. This is a key technical leadership role responsible for ensuring robust product transfer, operational readiness, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced production setting.
The ideal candidate will bring strong cross-functional collaboration skills, proven NPI experience, and a passion for driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from concept through to full production launch, ensuring seamless integration into existing manufacturing processes.
- Provide technical leadership and direction across cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones, quality standards, and timelines are achieved.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, cost reduction, and process optimisation.
- Support the development and execution of engineering strategies aligned with long-term operational and business objectives.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and automation teams to support and implement plant automation initiatives.
- Ensure full compliance with quality, regulatory, and safety standards; participate in audits and continuous system improvements.
- Support capital expenditure planning, including tracking, forecasting, and reporting on project budgets.
- Lead improvements in engineering systems, processes, and procedures to enhance overall site performance.
- Contribute to cost-reduction and “Cost to Win” initiatives, ensuring effective and timely implementation.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a high-performance, problem-solving team culture.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Engineering required; Master’s degree (MSc) desirable.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ engineering experience, including direct involvement in New Product Introduction and product integration within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing or contributing significantly to complex engineering projects.
- Project Management experience desirable; formal certification advantageous.
- Lean Six Sigma qualification preferred.
- Proven ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and influence outcomes in high-demand, deadline-driven environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering measurable improvements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Adaptable, agile learner with the ability to respond effectively to evolving technologies and business requirements.
