We currently have a a vacancy for an experienced Automation Engineer to join or Clients site in Clonmel Tipperary.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
- Ensure all plant automation systems are maintained and provide support as required.
- Ensure all new equipment is validated as per Q.A. procedures.
- Carry out continuous improvement on the production lines.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for consulting any SOP’s for any job task he/she may carry out and ensure they fully understand and adhere to the SOP.
- Plan and schedule work in accordance with plant demand and available manpower.
- Ensure all Abbott employees & contractors are fully familiar with all Safety Rules and regulations.
- Ensure all efforts are made to reduce product cost by improving efficiencies.
- Ensure no faults occur and if they do ensure adjustments are made and checks carried out until no fault exists.
- Manage all plant automation systems ensuring compliance CFR 21/11 and other related policies and procedures.
- Maintain and manage all aspects of Plant Batching System, manufacturing communication network and Predictive Control System.
- Co-ordinate CAPA investigations impacting Engineering.
- Manage maintenance of Medium Voltage Equipment.
- Manage Manufacturing UPS Systems.
- Measure and analyse trends in OSI PI, Scada etc.
EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES:
- You will have bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent discipline with 5 years relevant experience in Automation engineering.
- Experience working with siemens PLCs is essential for the role. Experience working on ignition (scada) is an advantage
