Role Overview:
- Reporting to the Group Engineering Manager, the Engineering Project Manager will take a proactive approach to managing engineering projects across the group, ensuring their delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Project Management: Lead and deliver various engineering projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
- Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with all stakeholders to provide regular updates on project progress and promptly address any issues that arise.
- Problem Solving: Analyze engineering challenges by gathering information, conducting research, and recommending solutions. Tasks may include preparing drawings, schematics, and diagrams; evaluating components, materials, and suppliers; developing specifications and safety standards; and overseeing equipment installations.
- Team Coordination: Organize and manage internal teams and third-party contractors to execute projects efficiently while ensuring adherence to project plans throughout the lifecycle.
- Project Reporting: Maintain team achievements by sharing essential information, coordinating actions, resolving open issues, and contributing to team meetings and reports.
- Cross-Site Collaboration: Work closely with group sites to implement projects efficiently, minimizing disruption to production processes.
- Supplier Management: Source and negotiate with suppliers, monitor parts delivery, and ensure swift actioning of received items.
- Budgeting and Cost Analysis: Assist with engineering budget preparation and conduct cost evaluations to ensure financial efficiency.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- High technical aptitude with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficient in IT tools, including Excel and AutoCAD (essential).
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively.
- A team player with enthusiasm, flexibility, and a commitment to high standards for self and others.
- Self-motivated and capable of working under pressure and on own initiative.
- A focus on continuous improvement and a drive to enhance existing processes.
- Adaptability and a positive approach to change.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in project management.
- Extensive industry experience in a similar role.
- Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge of equipment and processes.
- Prior experience in water treatment or automation (preferred but not essential).
