Role Overview
Hands-on, research-focused role responsible for generating preclinical and clinical evidence to support medical device development. The position centres on experimental design, data analysis, and scientific publication, with a strong emphasis on translating research into clinical impact.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Evidence Generation
- Design, execute, and analyse preclinical experiments
- Conduct in-vitro and benchtop testing (e.g., occlusion models)
- Maintain accurate, compliant experimental records and datasets
- Interpret results and communicate findings to internal and clinical teams
- Lead and support preparation of peer-reviewed publications
- Contribute to clinical research activities (first-in-human and post-market studies)
- Present findings internally and at external conferences
- Support scientific content for training and commercial activities
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and clinical collaborators
- Align research activities with clinical and product needs
- Support conference preparation and coordination
- Manage research and demonstration devices
- Support sourcing of materials and test equipment
- Provide general scientific and operational support to R&D and clinical teams
- MSc or PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field
- Strong experience in experimental design, execution, and data analysis
- Proven scientific writing skills (peer-reviewed publications preferred)
- Excellent organisational and documentation skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- In-vitro / benchtop model development (cardiovascular or neurovascular preferred)
- Knowledge of stroke or neurovascular therapies
- Experience working with clinicians or clinical research teams
- Conference presentation experience
- Familiarity with regulated medical device environments
