Role Overview
A fast-growing aerospace company in Shannon is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support the development and scale-up of assembly, integration and test operations for precision flight-control systems.
The role will focus on taking products from development and low-rate production through to stable, high-volume manufacturing, while improving processes, tooling, automation, quality and production efficiency.

Role Overview
A fast-growing aerospace company in Shannon is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support the development and scale-up of assembly, integration and test operations for precision flight-control systems.
The role will focus on taking products from development and low-rate production through to stable, high-volume manufacturing, while improving processes, tooling, automation, quality and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement assembly and test work cells, including layouts, tooling, jigs and fixtures.
- Develop and maintain work instructions, build travellers and SOPs.
- Support hybrid manual/automated manufacturing systems, including Kanban, AMRs, conveyors, AS/RS and poka-yoke/vision systems.
- Support the development and validation of acceptance test stands and test equipment.
- Analyse cycle times, takt time, staffing and production capacity as volumes increase.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing issues, non-conformances and quality escapes.
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, PDCA and 5S/6S.
- Manage manufacturing configuration and traceability, including BOMs, serialization, build records and hardware traceability.
- Support tooling, test equipment and inspection equipment calibration.
- Work with Design Engineering on DFM/DFA improvements.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve incoming quality, fit and manufacturing issues.
- Support production readiness reviews and NPI activities as the facility scales.
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in manufacturing, production or industrial engineering, ideally in aerospace or another highly regulated precision manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience taking new products from prototype/NPI into repeatable production.
- Experience with automated or semi-automated manufacturing systems is advantageous.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T, with familiarity with 2D/3D CAD.
- Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Kanban and 5S/6S.
- Understanding of AS9100/ISO9001, configuration management, traceability and non-conformance processes.
- Experience with RCA and problem-solving tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto and 8D.
- Experience with test stand development or acceptance testing is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, practical and hands-on problem-solving skills.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced start-up environment, adapting to changing priorities and taking ownership across multiple areas.
