We are recruiting an experienced Financial Accountant on behalf of our client. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to join a growing finance function with responsibility across group consolidation, statutory reporting, audit and tax compliance.

We are recruiting an experienced Financial Accountant on behalf of our client. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to join a growing finance function with responsibility across group consolidation, statutory reporting, audit and tax compliance.
The Role
Reporting to the CFO, you will play a key role in the preparation of accurate and timely group financial information, statutory accounts, audit deliverables and tax compliance across a multi-entity environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare group consolidated financial results, including consolidation journals, intercompany eliminations, FX translation and reporting pack reconciliations.
- Support the preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with FRS 102 and/or IFRS.
- Prepare audit files, working papers and supporting schedules and act as a key contact for external auditors.
- Review subsidiary reporting submissions and ensure compliance with Group accounting policies.
- Reconcile intercompany balances and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Support technical accounting matters including revenue recognition, leases, provisions, impairments, investments, goodwill and foreign exchange.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support VAT compliance, including returns, reconciliations and coding reviews.
- Assist with corporation tax compliance, tax packs, taxable adjustments and tax balance reconciliations.
- Support R&D tax credit claims and year-end tax provisioning, deferred tax and statutory tax disclosures.
- Liaise with auditors, tax advisers and internal stakeholders on reporting and compliance matters.
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes through automation, AI-enabled tools and data analytics.
About You
We are looking for a technically strong and commercially minded qualified accountant with:
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification.
- Strong experience in financial reporting, consolidation and statutory accounts.
- Hands-on experience working in a group or multi-entity environment.
- Experience supporting external audits and preparing audit schedules.
- Good working knowledge of FRS 102 and/or IFRS.
- Practical experience with VAT, corporation tax, R&D tax credits and tax provisioning.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP, consolidation or reporting systems.
- Excellent analytical, reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Confident communication skills with the ability to work effectively with auditors, advisers and non-finance stakeholders.
- An interest in AI, automation and technology-enabled finance solutions.
