Job Title: Human Resources Manager
Reports to: CEO
The Role:
The HR Manager leads a team handling all HR activities within the manufacturing facility and all related functions with particular focus on ensuring that a pro-active and strong employee relations culture exists and is continually cultivated.
Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership and direction to a small and agile Human Resources team, including effective mentoring and training.
- Day-to-day Human Resources support for all Irish-based employees.
- Responsible for ensuring that systems and processes for payroll, healthcare, pension, bonuses and other benefits support accurate provision to colleagues and appropriate governance
- In conjunction with management colleagues, ensures that the organisation promotes and practices a culture of open, fair and progressive employee engagement and relations on site.
- Partners closely with senior, middle and front-line management to ensure a consistent approach to people management and related issues, advising on issues as they arise.
- Developing plans for learning and development for colleagues across the business and promoting the comoany as a place to start and grow careers at all levels.
- Works with management to initiate and maintain effective policies & practices that enables the attraction & retention of staff at all levels within the manufacturing facility.
- Acts as sensor of potential employee relations issues and proactively works with management to address same and to address grievance, disciplinary and other matters in a timely and consistent manner.
- Acts as the lead in helping to fill open vacancies within the production team.
- Builds strong relationships with HR practitioners in the community to ensure access to best practices and other industry & functional trends and initiatives.
- Ensures that the necessary HR processes & policies are in place and effectively communicated to all employees.
- Works closely with the Manufacturing Operations Manager, Director of Manufacturing and the CEO to ensure a regular cascade of communication exists across the site. Acts as a key confidante on potentially sensitive people management issues.
- Acts a key member of the overall HR team continually helping to build the profile of the function as an effective & efficient business partner.
- Keeps up to date on any changes in Labour legislation and ensure related policies are updated and fit for purpose.
- Partners with senior management to support organisational design, workforce planning, and leadership development.
- Drives performance management, succession planning and talent development.
The Person/Qualification:
- A proven track record of working as Senior HR Generalist or HR Manager in an manufacturing organisation.
- Minimum of 5 years appropriate experience in a senior HR role in a fast-moving environment.
- A proven track record in relationship building, strong communication and influencing skills.
- Is approachable, demonstrates sensitivity, empathy and integrity.
- A self-starter who can apply their own initiative in most situations.
- A capacity to make sound judgements, seeking advice & counsel from others where required.
- Is highly confidential and effectively able to deal with sensitive & difficult situations while remaining calm.
- Ability to act as an ambassador for the company in promoting it as a great place to work.
- Strong knowledge of Irish employment law and HR best practices.
